I spent all weekend studying for today’s test ~ I mean REALLY studying. My brain actually hurt a little. So I took the test this morning and I must say I was thoroughly underwhelmed by my score. I passed, but my grade in no way reflected all the hard work I put into studying for it. So when I got home, instead of pulling out the books or working on our group project, I read. I read a real book about real people and authored by a non-medical person. I plopped down on the new patio swing and swung (swang? swinged?) for about an hour and just relaxed. It was very calming.
The book I started is Band of Brothers ~ the same book the miniseries was modeled after. I figured that since I’ve seen the TV version dozens of times I wouldn’t have to concentrate as hard on the storyline ~ I still have 5 weeks of studying left, too! This way I can read little snippets when I get the chance and just take my time getting thru the whole book. I read the first 30 pages this afternoon and so far I like it. Of course it helps that there are no pictures of intestines anywhere in the book.
