Good News, Bad News and No News

Good News
On our daily trip to the hospital on Thursday, Vic's mom was looking terrible. She went from pasty white to ashy grey and she looked the worst we've seen her since this all started way back in May. Friday, however, we got to the hospital and she was not only awake, but she recognized us and actually smiled! Yea!! She's still unable to talk (due to the trach tube), but she can answer simple yes/no questions and she seems very aware of her surroundings, so this is really a giant step on the road to recovery.

Bad News
Our computer started doing some funky stuff on Thursday, so I took it into the computer guy who kept her until earlier this morning. Turns out she had a pretty nasty virus. Fortunately, we didn't lose any data and we have a really nice computer guy who fixed the problem for free, so a bad situation actually turned out to be okay. He said the virus was spying on us and recording all our keystrokes. Kinda scary, huh?

No News
The lady I interviewed with at the hospital last week said I would definitely know about the job, either good or bad, by the end of this week. Well, the end of this week is officially over and I haven't heard anything. I guess no news is better than bad news, but it's still pretty frustrating. I've got an interview at another place on Tuesday and something else in the works, so hopefully I'll have some good news soon. Of course even better news would be that I won the lottery and didn't have to look for a job at all.

I've been worried about Vic's mom, so I'm happy to see her update in the good news column. I know all about how sick in laws can make life not okay.

I'll keep sending the positive energy to the North.
