The Long Weekend

Let's start with Friday...I had a great Friday even though my day included a trip to the doctor where she told me what I was dreading ~ I'll have to have a biopsy on my right breast to make sure what's showing up on the xray isn't cancerous. The radiologist is supposed to call with an appointment sometime this week, so hopefully I can get all this completed before the new year. The rest of my day was great, tho! Vic & I had Mexicans for lunch, did a little light shopping and then came home where she took a nap and I ran a couple of treadmill miles and worked on the scrapbook for a while. What made this day so grand was that nowhere in there did I have to do anything work-related. No getting the uniform ready for work or preparing my lunch for work or taking a nap so I won't fall asleep at work ~ no work anything! I love knowing that my day is all mine to do with what I want and that I don't have to rush or curtail something because I have to go to work. I soooo absolutely hate going to work. If I could find a nice stay-at-home job I would be extremely, blissfully happy. I just hate dealing with rude people, both on the phone and at work. I would much rather work with kitties and some nice Celtic music playing softly in the background.

Vic & I spent all day Saturday shopping & lunching with her mom. We really don't spend enough time doing stuff like this with her because she's always so busy with church or library stuff. The rest of the weekend we mostly just hung out around the house. I got about 4 pages done in the London scrapbook, chopped a slew of firewood & cleaned some crap out of the garage while Vic tidied up the inside of the house. The cold months are great for getting stuff done around the house. We're going to try to paint the living room and our bedroom before Spring and we need to do a few minor repairs to some stuff around the outside of the house, too. We've been fortunate that we haven't really had any snow yet, but I'm sure this won't last forever, so I'd like to get as much done outside as we can.
